Dr. Kyle Odom
Dr. Kyle W. Odom joined our Oral Surgery Kansas family in July of 2021with his wife Theresa and their four boys. Dr. Odom had just retired from the Air Force after completing 21 years of dedicated military service. Kyle’s final salute was rendered at the 86th AirLift Wing, Ramstein, Germany, where he served as the Dental Squadron’s Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Services.
Dr. Odom hails from Jackson, Mississippi. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Art in Spanish from Delta State University in 1993, Kyle studied abroad at the acclaimed Malaca Instituto in Malaga, Spain. While there, Dr. Odom was able to obtain his DELE degree (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera). In May 1994, he entered the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. Kyle received a USAF Health Professions Scholarship and entered Active Duty upon graduation in 1999. In 2000 he completed the Air Force Advanced Education in Dentistry(AEGD) residency at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis, and spent the next two 4-year tours in Italy and Germany. From there he then attended the demanding four year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center, in San Antonio Texas. It was during this time that Dr. Odom worked closely with OSK’s very own Drs. Brendan Farrell, Mike Neilson and Phil Harvey. From Texas he and his family spent the next five glorious years in Japan where he served as the OMS Chief at Yokota Air Base. During this time Dr. Odom worked to earn his OMS Board Certification. He bookended his military career back in Europe as the Chief of OMS at Ramstein AFB, Germany where he proudly concluded his military career.
Kyle and Theresa have made Lawrence their home along with their four energetic boys. Ethan, John Hiett, Aidan, and Coghlan.
