Dr. Farrell joined Oral Surgery Kansas in the summer of 2012.
Brendan Farrell was born in Welland, Ontario, but moved to The States at a young age to the more tropical Rio Grande Valley, Texas. He graduated Valedictorian of his Donna High School class and attended undergraduate at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He also met his future-wife, Julie, at the age of 15 and they later married before dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Brendan joined the military during dental school and after graduation moved to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida and completed a one-year AEGD, then on to Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma where he served as a general dentist for two years. The Farrells’ first son, Spencer, was born during their time there.
Oral and Maxillofacial Residency program at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, was the next step in Dr. Farrell’s career. In the middle of these four years, Dylan, the Farrells’ second son, was born. After graduation, Dr. Farrell was reassigned to Lackland as a staff member of the Oral Surgery program, where he functioned as the Director of Clinical Operations and instructed oral surgery residents.
For six months Dr. Farrell was deployed to Joint Base Balad, Iraq where he worked alongside other Army and Air Force doctors as an integral member of the “head and neck trauma team” for both American and Iraqi trauma patients. While in Iraq he served as the Theater Consultant for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Iraq. He considers this an experience of a lifetime and is thankful for the opportunity.
The Farrell’s thoroughly enjoy life in Kansas, especially outdoor activities together.
