Joseph M. Harvey, DDS, PA
Dr. Harvey grew up in SE Nebraska. He majored in chemical engineering while on a Regent’s scholarship at the only university in the state.
Joe and his wife, Mary, were wed in 1976. Dr. Harvey graduated from the Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry in 1977. Upon graduation he entered active duty with the USAF. Over the next 13 years he rose to the rank of Lt Colonel while completing his internship in 1978 and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training in 1986. Before leaving the Air Force for private practice Dr. Harvey served on the attending teaching staff in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas.
Dr. Harvey joined Lawrence Oral Surgery in 1990 and is gratified to be a part of the growth that has become Oral Surgery Kansas. Dr. Harvey is board certified and a member of the surgery staff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He is also a member of the Douglas County Dental Society, the Kansas Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Harvey serves as an elder at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Courtesy of the USAF, Joe and Mary are happy to have had children (8) born from Romania to Japan and in every time zone in the US. They have somewhere around 14 grandchildren, more all the time, and they enjoy faith, family, and the outdoors.
